Joan Marie Carne
Peterborough, New Hampshire - Joan Marie Carne, 82, died in her Peterborough home on January 10, 2012. Mrs. Carne was born in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania, on January 17, 1929, the daughter of Margaret (McGrellis) and John T. Ferry. She moved to Peterborough in 1993 from Ilion New York. She had previously resided in Germantown TN, and Concord, MA between 1968-1992.Mrs. Carne was a parishioner of St. Peter’s Church of Divine Mercy Parish in Peterborough as well as she was a member of The Third Order of Franciscans, the Legion of Mary and the Women’s Guild. She enjoyed playing bridge with the Senior Focus Bridge Club. She was a voracious reader and in her free time volunteered at the Peterborough Library. Joan also was a member of the Garden Club and enjoyed spending time outside gardening. She is survived by her husband E. Bryan Carne, three sons, John J. Carne of East Greenwich RI., Michael J. Carne of Los Angeles CA. and Kevin J. Carne of Peterborough, one daughter Margaret M. Carne (Maggie) of Naperville IL., and nine grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Margaret and John Ferry and son Brian J. Carne of Windham, NH who passed away February 7, 2011. Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012, from 5 to 7 PM, at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, New Hampshire. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at 11 AM, at St. Peter's Church of Divine Mercy Parish, Peterborough.
