Beverly R. Gienty

Beverly R. Gienty, 88, of Windsor, CT, formerly of Peterborough, Dublin, Francestown, and Jaffery NH passed away on April 14, 2024, at Kimberly Hall South, Windsor, CT.    She was the widow of Edward H. Gienty.  Beverly was born in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada on February 29, 1936, the daughter of the late John Albert and Eva Maude (Stevens) Rogers.

Beverly graduated from Simmons College in Boston in 1959 with a nursing degree.  Beverly worked as a nurse in Boston for many years before moving to New Hampshire.  In New Hampshire, she met and married Ed Gienty, continued to work as a nurse and, with her love and ability for knitting, owned and operated a knitting store in Peterborough and Dublin.   Beverly was an avid reader, active in churches in New Hampshire and a lover of cats and shopping. 

Bev is survived by her sister Jacquelyn McElmurry, Newington CT, her son Aaron Milligan of Scarborough ME, nieces Elaine Teevens, Paula Doering, Elizabeth Doering, Sheryl Sherly, Kerie McElmurry and many grand-children, nieces, and nephews.  She was predeceased by her sisters Ruth Rogers Doering and Willena Marie Rogers, her nephew Charles Rogers Doering as well as her parents and husband.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 am in the family plot at Pine Hill Cemetery, Peterborough, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Beverly’s name to Monadnock Kitty Rescue & Adoption, Jaffery NH.
