Wilfred M. Cabana
Peterborough, New Hampshire - Wilfred M. Cabana, 80, died at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on December 20, 2011, with his family at his side after a period of failing health.Mr. Cabana was born in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, on March 27, 1931, the son of Maria (Tardif) and Arthur Cabana. He lived in Peterborough most of his life, graduating from Peterborough High School in 1950. He joined the U.S Air Force in 1950 and served until 1964 when he returned to Peterborough. He worked at Kingsbury Machine and Tool in Keene as an electrician, retiring in 1993.He enjoyed traveling, fishing, sports, and spending time with his family. He was a member of the American Legion.He is survived by two sons, Kim Cabana of Peterborough, and Eric Cabana and his girlfriend Janice Mcintyre of Jaaffrey; a sister, Lorraine Cabana of Hillsborough, NH; a brother, Roger and his wife Allison of Hobe Sound, Florida; his brother-in-law, Bernie Cutter of Goshen, New Hampshire; his grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, Tyler Cabana, and Kayla Cabana of Keene, New Hampshire; AndrewCabana of Freeland, Pennsylvania; and Adam Lombard of Dover, Delaware; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Kathleen; three brothers, Arthur, Raymond, and Bernard; six sisters, Irene Bergeron, Yvette Dupont, Lena Cote, Beatrice Warriner, Rita Barry, and Theresa Cutter and a son Gary M. Cabana.A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at 9:30 AM, at Pine Hill Cemetery, Peterborough. Reverend Gerald Belanger of St. Peter's Church will officiate.In lieu of flowers, donations may be send to the MonadnockArea Food Pantry, 51 ConcordStreet, Peterborough, NH 03458.
