Dee Dee was born on April 12, 1959 in Peterborough, NH to Linnea (Farhm) and Samuel Zachos of Bennington.  She attended Pierce School in Bennington, Antrim Middle School and graduated from Conval High School in 1977.  She married her high school sweetheart, Robert McLaughlin and lived in Peterborough, Antrim and West Deering, NH.

As a teenager, she worked as a salad girl at Alberto’s Restaurant in Bennington and as a kitchen helper at Monadnock Community Hospital.  After graduating, she worked at New England Business Center.  Dee Dee enjoyed camping, attending rock concerts, dancing,  and spending time with her family, especially at their cottage on Gregg Lake in Antrim.
