Shirley A. Earley

Shirley A. Earley, 81, of Peterborough, passed away at Monadnock Community Hospital, after suffering complications from multiple illnesses, on July 4, 2018.  She was born in Goffstown, NH on June 29, 1937, the daughter of Charles and Mary Rich.

Shirley was raised in the Monadnock Region and lived her entire life there.   She worked many jobs in the community including Nurse’s Aide, Nursing Home Cook and Chef, and the deli clerk at the A&P where for years people always said, “she made the best salads”.  Before retiring, she ran her own housecleaning business and cleaned for many local families.    All of Shirley’s jobs allowed her to do what she was passionate about; taking care of people.   Her outgoing personality, and her ability to make friends anywhere, made her a natural in her continuous care giving role.

Shirley was an animal lover and throughout her entire life had cats in her home that she adored.  She also loved feeding the birds and squirrels and spending time outside in her flower garden.   Shirley volunteered her time making hundreds of cat beds for Kitty Rescue & Adoption over the years.

Most of all, Shirley will be remembered and missed as great wife, mother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, Gerald Earley of Peterborough, she is survived by her children, Mary (Earley) Wright of Jaffrey, Michael Magoon of Jaffrey, and Sue (Magoon)Fulton of Greenfield; her sister Rose McLaughlin of Tampa FL, and her grandchildren, Steven, Kristi, Michael, Jr., Misty, Michelle, Jamie and Joshua.   She will also be missed by many great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter Michele Earley in 1986.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 11, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH  03458.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to Kitty Rescue and Adoption, 11 Plantation Drive, Jaffrey, NH 03452.
