Alan John Zeller, 75, of Peterborough, NH, passed away at his home on the morning of April 6, 2022. He was born in Chicago Heights, IL in 1946, the son of John and Lucille (Wagner) Zeller.
Alan grew up and was educated in Chicago Heights and graduated with the class of 1964 from Marian Catholic High School. He did a further 2 years of education at Prairie State College before joining the Navy for six years as an electronics technician. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor when he got married and started a family. Upon leaving the navy in the early 70s, Alan got a job with Hewlett-Packard in Massachusetts as an analytical engineer and then chemical engineer, with HP-spinoff, Agilent Technologies. He retired after 35 years and moved from Hollis to Peterborough, NH. It was in Peterborough that he found great joy in contributing to the community and participated on multiple town planning boards and committees and was a member of the American Legion, participating in the Memorial Day parade every year. He was passionate about cars and was always reading and learning about latest trends and models that caught his eye. He was also an avid organic gardener and cook, believing in good food for a healthy lifestyle.
Alan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Roberta L. Zeller; his daughter, Laura J. Obbard, son-in-law Andy Obbard, and grandson William G. Obbard of South Woodstock, VT; and his dear sister, Joyce L. Glandon of Crete, IL.
A memorial service, with military honors, will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Peterborough Community Center, 25 Elm Street, Peterborough, NH.
