Daniel Byron Thompson, 53, of Temple died unexpectedly on March 15, 2014 at his home.
Born in Bellows Falls, VT on October 10, 1960, he was the son of Eliot Thompson and Dorothy (Lund) Thompson.
Daniel grew up in Westmoreland where he attended school and spent many years of his young life working on a dairy farm. He lived in Harrisville for a time before returning to Westmoreland and eventually moving to Temple in 2012.
Daniel loved the outdoors and thrived on the solitude and beauty of nature and all of its gifts. He enjoyed animals, visiting the ocean, hiking, and fishing.
He served in the United States Navy for five years where he received training that would shape his career as a plumber. He worked for a number of years for Stromgren Plumbing and Heating.
He is survived by his son Nicholas Thompson of Marlborough, NH, his sisters Lauren Hurley of Westmoreland and Sandra Newell of Sullivan, his brother William Thompson of NC, and several nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his loving companion Alice "Annie" Saunders and her children, Michelle Buscemi and her husband Rich of New Ipswich and Jason Saunders and his wife Kristen of Swanzey; as well as two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial visiting hour will be held Saturday March 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH immediately followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
Interment will be held in the spring.
