Dolores Sanchioni, 86, passed away at Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester, NH on Friday October 15, 2021 following a lengthy illness.
She was born on September 22, 1935 in Newark, NJ to Charlotte and John Adamkowski. She moved as a young child to Stamford, CT where she attended Holy Name grammar school and Stamford High School.
Dolores was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She married on January 21, 1956 and spent 61 years with her sweetheart Rino Sanchioni who died on April 18, 2017. The couple lived in Stamford and Darien, CT before moving their family to Francestown, NH in 1972.
Dolores thoroughly enjoyed people. She loved being with family and friends and would start friendly conversations with complete strangers. She had a warm, welcoming, positive personality and was always thinking of others first. She especially loved babies and small children. After her children were grown, she offered before & after school care in her home for a couple of families.
Dolores and Rino also enjoyed ballroom dancing and many trips to the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casinos, and in later years going to senior lunches and events.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Lillian Morton six months ago.
She is survived by her three children, Mark Sanchioni (wife Diane), Ken Sanchioni, and Cheryl (Sanchioni) Massicotte (husband Philip); grandson Patrick Massicotte (wife Tammie and great grandson Jonathan Rino), granddaughter Brianna (Massicotte) Hyland (husband Terry); and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are on Friday, October 22nd from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Divine Mercy Parish, 12 Church St., Peterborough, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at St Peter’s Cemetery, High Street, Peterborough.
The family is appreciative of the special care received at Hanover Hill Health Care Center along with the Hospice Services of the Visiting Nurse Association. Memorial donations can be made to the VNA of Manchester and Southern NH online at www.elliothospital.org/vna.
