Donald "Don" C. Garfield

Donald C. Garfield, 80 of Jaffrey, died as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident on October 14, 2026. He was born in Keene, NH on June 11, 1946, to Roger and Charlotte (Buffum) Garfield.

Don was well known in the greater Monadnock community, having worked at Belletetes, Inc. for more than 60 years at multiple locations. He was a familiar and warm presence to his customers, who appreciated his eagerness to help or to simply have a friendly conversation. He will be deeply missed by his customers and co-workers.

Don loved being with his family whenever he could. On holidays, he would come to Massachusetts, enjoy a well-cooked meal, and play games with his family. He loved cars, movies, music, and enjoyed watching his big screen tv. Some may remember Don’s well-maintained 1979 Pontiac Trans-am, which became a passion for him. Don had a love for flying in small planes, periodically being seen at the Jaffrey Airport – Silver Ranch, or Keene Dillant – Hopkins Airport.

Don is survived by his niece Alyce Wall and her husband Charles, along with their son Jason, and his wife Anastaasia; several nieces and nephews, and countless friends from the community.

Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by his sister Evelyn Armitage, previously of Warren ma; and his brother Arnold Sherman, previously of North Carolina.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH 03458. Donald will be laid to rest in the family plot at Conant Cemetery, Jaffrey, NH.
