Dublin, NH John Edward "Ed" Younie, 88, of Dublin died on April 10, 2016 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass. Ed was born in Quincy, MA on August 28, 1927 the son of Walter S. Younie and Isabel (Sandersen) Younie. Ed grew up loving the ocean. He built his first sailboat when he was just 9 years old. He had a very successful sailboat racing career, including winning the Town Class national championship. He obtained his Masters of Education and went on to have an extensive and fulfilling teaching career. Starting in 1965, he became a programmer/analyst, primarily for Kingsbury Corp. Ed lived in Keene for many years before moving to Greenville. He moved to Dublin with his wife Susan Reiners and the two have resided there for the past 32 years. He enjoyed singing and being a member of church choirs. In addition to his wife, Susan Reiners, Ed is survived by his sons: Glenn Younie and wife Christine of Harrisville, Jeffrey Younie and wife Karen of Marlow, John Younie and wife Ginger of Bremerton, Wa., and Bradford Younie and wife Andrea of Derry. His step sons Sean Kenney and wife Tina of Munich, Germany and Gregory Kenney of Brooklyn, N.Y. Ed will be missed by his 9 grandchildren: Jacob, Wamba, Brenna, Edward, Douglas, Heather, Kayleigh, Lili and Emeline, his brother Ralph Younie of Eastham, MA and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed is predeceased by his brother Walter Younie. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, N.H. A funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 17 at 2:00 pm at the Peterborough Unitarian Church, 25 Main Street, Peterborough, N.H. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Ed's name to a charity of one's own choosing.
