Genevieve Lowell Thompson, 84, spent most of her life in New York; except for the last couple of years, she moved and had currently been living in Peterborough, NH. She passed away peacefully at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, on November 29th, 2025. She was born in The Bronx, New York on April 14th,1941, the daughter of George Lowell and Genevieve Doyle.
Genevieve, Gen, was raised in The Bronx, New York, where she enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sister, many of her fondest memories were tied to her grandmother. At just 21, she met and married the love of her life, Robert Thompson. Gen and Rob shared countless passion-taking drives together, painting, and enjoying breakfast at dinners. Their love for music, family, and cheering on New York sports teams only brought them closer, especially once their children started families of their own, Gen dedicated the early years of her marriage to raising their children. Eventually moving to Walden, New York, there she cherished every moment making memories with Rob and all of their grandchildren. After Rob passed, Gen started taking singing lessons, something she really loved, and when she wasn’t singing, she was playing music that stirred up fond memories.
Genevieve is survived by her children: Brian Thompson, of CO, Susie (Sears) Thompson, of CA, Jennifer Thompson, and her wife, Michelle Thompson, of Edina, MN, Douglas Thompson, and his wife, Jenna (Kotrba) Thompson, of Peterborough, New Hampshire, Robin Thompson, of The Bronx, NY, and Alex Thompson, wife Kathy, of Walden New York.
Gen was a devoted grandmother to: Kellen, Harmony, and Mariah, Jean-Luc, Raphael, and Julien (Edina), Tierney, Delaney, Robert William (Will), Brooks, and Evelyn Genevieve (Evie), of Peterborough, and Jacob, Kristin, Gabriel, Jason, and Melisa, of Walden; recently becoming a great-grandmother to Grandson, Gabriels' first child, Loukas Alexander Thompson.
She was predeceased by Robert William Thompson (son of Rob and Gen, his memory lives on throughout our family); and Rob Thompson, devoted father, and loving husband of over 50 years.
