Helen Margaret Sullivan, 71, of Peterborough, died at her home, while surrounded by the love of her family, on November 17, 2017. She was born on April 5, 1946 the daughter of Michael E. Sullivan and Helen M. (Flynn) Sullivan.

Helen was raised in Boston and received her undergraduate degree from Boston State College, later earning her Master’s Degree from Antioch University. Shortly after graduating, she and her husband moved to Annapolis, MD where they lived for 15 years and started their family. They moved back to New England in 1984 to be closer to relatives and to raise their children in Peterborough.

Helen enjoyed a long career in education.  She worked full time until the age of 70, and taught for more than 20 years in the Conval School district, retiring last year as the Director of Title 1 Reading Recovery Program.

Helen lived by four convictions; Faith, Family, Career and Friendship. She was known to say, "not necessarily in that order" and was steadfast in her beliefs. She was an active member of All Saints Church and a member of Monadnock Quilting Guild.

Helen was one of 5 children along with Kevin Sullivan of MA, Kathleen Leader of MA, Edward M. Sullivan of FL, and was predeceased by her sister Ann Croke of CT. She is survived by daughter Tracy Waterman and her son Peter Waterman, along with his wife Allison Fernald-Waterman and their children Libby and Cade of MA. She also leaves her former husband Paul Waterman of Peterborough and many close friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at 11:00AM at All Saints Church, 51 Concord Street, Peterborough.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Helen's name be made to the Peterborough Food Pantry C/O Peterborough Human Services Fund, One Grove Street, Peterborough, NH  03458.
