The family took many vacations together, including annual ski trips to Vermont and New Hampshire and family vacations to Europe and out West. These are fondly remembered by his children.

Sunapee well into his 70’s and served as Treasurer of the Sunapee School District. Jim was particularly involved with the Council on Aging at the Chapin Senior Center in New London, NH, where he served as their Board Chair for many years.
