James “Jimmy” Patrick Sullivan, age 74 of Bonita Springs, FL and Hancock, NH, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family after a period of failing health, on April 28, 2021. He was born in Peterborough, NH on September 11, 1946, the son of Michael J. and Isabel (Peasley) Sullivan.
Raised in Greenfield, Jimmy lived his entire life in the Monadnock Region. Jimmy loved warm weather and spent winters in Florida. Jimmy was a US Navy Veteran and served on the USS Saratoga (CVA-60) and was very proud of his military service.
Jimmy was a self-employed roofer/contractor and worked with many other builders in the area. Once retired from building, he opened Jimmy’s Jumbo's Hot Dog Wagon which was a lifelong dream. He spent many hours with customers solving the problems of the world.
Jimmy was one who was always there for friends and family. No matter where he lived, his door was always open and he welcomed anyone who might need a place to lay their head.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Denise (Smith) Sullivan; daughter Shelly (Sullivan) Shea and her husband Richmond of Beverly, MA; son Cary James (CJ) Sullivan and his wife Erika of Peterborough; his three cherished grandchildren, Jayna Shea, Nicholas Shea and Kendall Sullivan; four brothers, Michael Sullivan, and his wife Elsa of Bedford, NH., Richard Sullivan and his wife Cecelia, of Peterborough, NH., Daniel Sullivan and his companion Deborah Calkin of Antrim, NH., William Sullivan and his wife Ellen, of Deltona, FL., and his sister in law, Jan Farrington, of Bonita Springs, FL. He will be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Wherever Jimmy went, so did his beloved dog, Maggie.
He was predeceased by brothers Sheridan Sullivan and Ronald Sullivan.
The graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at the Norway Plain Cemetery, Hancock, NH on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 11:00am.
