John W. Evans

Hancock, NH John W. Evans, 99, of Hancock, died on February 6, 2015 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. He was born in Waltham, MA on November 3, 1915, the son of John S. Evans and Caroline (Dumbroski)Evans. John moved to Hancock in 1965 after having lived in South Peterborough for several years. He served in WWII as a member of the United States Coast Guard. He worked as a supervisor at Honeywell and was a parishioner of Devine Mercy Parish in Peterborough. John is survived by his son, Jack Evans of Peterborough and his daughter, Marsha Bill of Goffstown. He will also be missed by his sister Florence, his twelve grand children, twenty-two great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. John was predeceased by his loving wife Madeline (St Lawrence) Evans and his daughter Mary McGuire who died in 2014. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough. Monsignor Gerald Belanger will officiate. Burial will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to Disabled Veterans 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076 or The Wounded Warrior Project, 150 Cambridge Park Drive, Suite 202, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02140.
