Longtime Bennington resident Margaret A. Moran passed away peacefully at home on 13 July 2026 after a brief illness. Born on 23 April 1948 to John H. and Elizabeth Verdonk, she was raised in Bangor MI where she attended local schools. She graduated from Marywood Academy High School in Grand Rapids MI in 1966, and was accepted to Saint Mary's College in Kansas, graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in a subject she loved, Music Education. She pursued a career in music education, teaching in South Haven MI, Overland Park KS, Prince William County VA, Jacksonville NC, and 18 years as a music teacher at the Great Brook Middle School, Antrim NH.

She traveled extensively, visiting numerous countries in Europe, and spent time in Okinawa, Japan while her husband was stationed there, enjoying the local culture and taking cooking lessons.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with her family. She served as a Special Minister of the Eucharist at St. Patrick Church in Bennington.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Bruce H. Moran, their daughter Heather M. Bird, Son-In-Law John D. Bird, granddaughter Emma F. Bird, grandson John H. Bird and numerous nephews and nieces.

It is requested that donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital and St Jude Children's Hospital, two of her favorite charities.
