Martha Wilder

August 13, 1937 — April 19, 2015

Hancock, NH Martha A. Wilder, 77, died peacefully on April 19, 2015 at Hillsboro House Nursing Home after a brief illness and a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born August 13, 1937, she was the daughter of Walter J. and Natalienne (Blake) Harrington. She was a lifelong resident of Hancock. Martha graduated from Our Lady of Monadnock Academy in Jaffrey, NH and then went on to attend and graduate from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Manchester, NH. One of her proudest moments was when she received her Nursing Cap. Martha worked briefly as a nurse at Monadnock Community Hospital. She raised three daughters with her husband, Bud, and became the bookkeeper for the family business, Wilder's Auto Service, until her retirement. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of nearly 54 years, Otis "Bud" Wilder of Hancock, her three daughters; Anne Wilder and the light of her life Kirk Schellinger of Antrim, Kathleen Kristof and her husband Timothy of Apache Junction, AZ and Mary Wichland and her husband William of Ruskin, FL. She is also survived by two grandsons, Erik J. Kristof of Phoenix, AZ and Jerome H. Kristof of Tucson, AZ; her brother Richard and his wife Christine, of New Boston, NH and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Gerald, who died recently. Family and friends are warmly invited to calling hours on Thursday April 23, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord St, Peterborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough. The Reverend Monsignor Gerald Belanger, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be private for the family in the spring. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Divine Mercy Building Fund, 18 Vine Street, Peterborough, NH 03458, or the Alzheimer's Association, http://www.alz.org, or the Monadnock Adult Day Care, 22 North Street, Jaffrey 03452. Martha's family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Hillsboro House.
