Matthew Sean Cox

March 26, 1972 — July 17, 2025

Matthew Sean Cox, 53, of Hampstead, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born in Concord, NH on March 26, 1972, the son of Robert E. Cox III and Janet Griffiths.

Matt began his early career as a successful restaurant manager. Most recently, he was employed by Boston Granite Exchange as a truck driver.

Matt was full of life and love. He found great joy in making other people laugh and made every attempt to lighten the mood in the room if it wasn’t as fun as he thought it should be. He loved his family deeply. He enjoyed fishing and camping, especially with his kids, and loved the beach.

Matt is survived by his wife Joanne (Carrington) Cox and their children Cierra (husband Mike and children Serenity and Hunter), Jasmin and Sean. He will also be missed by his siblings Keith Cox (wife Patsy, children Megan and Nicole and Emma), Christopher Cox (wife Stephanie), Jennipher Merrill (partner Nelson Roy, children Isreal, Jakob and Elizabeth) and Nathan Cheever (wife Erin, daughter Hailey) and his extended Cox and Griffiths families.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday October 18, 2025, at 11:00am at Greenvale Cemetery, Forest Road, Greenfield, NH.  A Celebration of Matt's life will immediately follow at the Monadnock Country Club, 49 High Street, Peterborough, NH.
