Nicholas C. Seymour

February 25, 1988 — September 29, 2017

Nicholas Chancey Seymour, 29, died tragically Wednesday, Sept. 27th as the result of an automobile accident in Wilton, NH.  He was born February 25, 1988 to Donald S. Seymour and Wanda Chancey.  He grew up most of his childhood in Antrim and attended the ConVal School District, graduating with the class of 2006.  He went on to earn his teaching degree at Keene State College graduating in 2010.  After graduation Nick settled in Peterborough, eventually married his high school sweetheart Leah (Stone) and they began their family.

Nick’s true passions in life were coaching, teaching and his family.  He loved most sports but was especially devoted to the game of football.  He played prior to and during his high school years and then went on to coach for ConVal from 2006 to 2013.  In 2014 he joined the Franklin Pierce University Football Program as an assistant coach.

Nick began his teaching career at Mascenic High School in New Ipswich in 2010 where he taught for one year before moving to South Meadow School in Peterborough in 2011.  There he taught 6th and 7th grade social studies and math until moving to his former high school, ConVal, in 2013.  For four years he taught social studies at ConVal.  In September he started a new teaching position with the Social Studies Department at Merrimack High School.

In addition to his parents Nick leaves behind his wife, Leah and their two young children, a daughter, Parker and a son, Deacon.  His grandparents, Merton and Linda Chancey of New Boston; His in-laws, Alan and Colleen Stone; Mackenzie and Stephen Nichols and Family of Peterborough; Aunts, Uncles, cousins and a large “family” of students, players and friends.  He will be remembered by those he touched as living by the mantra, “remember to listen, do your best and have fun”.

Per Nick’s beliefs there will be no services and burial will be private.  To share memories please join “Nick Seymour Memorial” on Facebook.  All arrangements are being handled by Jellison Funeral Home in Peterborough.
