Richard Paulik

February 23, 1932 — April 9, 2017

Richard Paulik, 85, recently of Wakefield, NH, departed this life peaceably and entered into the joy of Jesus Christ on April 9, 2017. Richard was born in Manhattan, NY on February 23, 1932, the son of Andrew Paulik and Helen Wigren. Richard married his wife Patricia (Kalwara) Paulik, in Spring Valley, NY in 1959 and after living there for a time, moved to Townsend Harbor, MA before settling in Peterborough in 1976 until October, 2016. He worked as a supervisor at New England Business Service (NEBS) in Townsend, MA and Peterborough for more than 20 years, and then spent many years driving a school bus for children in the Peterborough area. He also enjoyed his time working at Belletetes for a number of years after his retirement. He loved being a part of the lives of the people of Peterborough. Richard loved people; whether it was bringing a smile to the teller at the bank, the pharmacists at Rite-Aid, or the person ahead of him in line at the grocery store, he always enjoyed making each person feel unique and special. He was, in the truest sense of the word, a caring and thoughtful gentleman. He also enjoyed model trains, being a member of Mystic Seaport CT, collecting coins, and reading books about the ship his father served on during WWII. Richard loved being a husband, father, and "Pa" and "Uncle". He and Patricia were married for 54 years until her passing in 2014. He kindly, patiently, and lovingly took care of her through her medical challenges right until the end. He thoroughly enjoyed playing chess with his two grandsons (whom he taught at ages 4 and 6!). He never missed an opportunity to surprise them with a little gift, coin, or letter. Whether one knew him as "Dad", "Pa" "Uncle" or "Friend", we are all thankful that his life was a vivid reminder of the miraculous grace of Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Monadnock Bible Baptist Church in Rindge and was immensely blessed by their ministry. Richard is survived by his daughter Bernice Caroline Demers and her husband Leonard Demers, both of Douglas, MA, his son Richard Frank Paulik and his girlfriend Vicky Noonkester of Wakefield, NH, his grandchildren Benjamin David Demers and Jonathan Andrew Demers of Douglas, MA, his cousin and sister-in-law Bill and Connie Kelishek of Greentown, PA and his nieces Kathy Ellis, Sue Connors, and Linda Sledzienski. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday April 15th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00PM. Reverend Tom Peragallo will preside. A private burial will follow the funeral service.
