Robert "Gene" Eugene Scribner

August 12, 1930 — June 1, 2021

Robert Eugene “Gene” Scribner, 90, of Francestown, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2021 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center in Manchester.  He was born in Gloversville, NY on August 12, 1930, the son of Robert and Laura (Campbell) Scribner.

After serving in the United States Navy during the Korea Era, Gene graduated from the University of Maine.    He played baseball for the Navy and the University of Maine during his time there.  He married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Morrissey in November 1952.

After college, Gene began working in the business field and would eventually own his own company.  He received a lifetime achievement award from the State of NH for his successful endeavors.   Gene continued to enjoy baseball throughout his life and also developed a passion for old hotrods.

In addition to his wife of 69 years, Barbara (Morrissey) Scribner, Gene is survived by his two sons Scott Scribner of Francestown and Richard Scribner of Peterborough; and his grandson Alexander Scribner of New Ipswich.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday June 3rd from 6 PM – 8PM at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, NH.  A graveside service will be held on Friday June 4th at 11:00AM in the family plot at Cemetery No. 3, Francestown, NH.
