Thomas C. (Tom) LaFortune, 85, of Dublin, passed away peacefully at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester on July 20, 2024. He was born in Winchendon, MA, on November 6, 1938, the son of Napoleon and M. Alice (Durocher) LaFortune.
Tom lived in Dublin, NH, for 54 years. He was a devoted parishioner of Divine Mercy (St. Peter’s), a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a Boy Scout leader. Tom worked for the IRS before starting his tax and accounting businesses, Sentry Business Service and, more recently, 101 Tax Preparation. Through his businesses and outgoing personality, he became a well-known and beloved member of the community and made friends everywhere he went. He was an avid stamp collector and loved gardening, American history, and animals.
Tom enjoyed visiting Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, VT, a tradition he started nearly 25 years ago with his wife Maureen. He looked forward to his visit to Trapp every spring. He knew fellow vacationers and staff by name, and over the years, he even became friends with members of the von Trapp family. It gave him great joy to share his love for Trapp with his family, who will always remember his love for the beautiful scenery and the gardens at Trapp.
Tom is survived by his children, Laura, Denis, and Scott (Michelle) LaFortune, Katie (Tony) Ferrandino, and John (Jennifer) Gaboury, his five grandchildren, Chantal and Claudia LaFortune, Gavin Ferrandino, and Hayes and Ava Gaboury, his sister Ruth Raboin, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Maureen, his grandson, Drew Ferrandino, and his sister, Jeanette Gorski.
