Barbara A Sheehan

Barbara Anne Sheehan, 71, of Dublin, NH, passed unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

Barbara was born in New York, NY, on August 9, 1950, the daughter of John and Dolores (Eccles) Corrigan.

Barbara studied nursing in Troy, New York and began her career as a lifelong servant to other people.  After several years in nursing, she transitioned into volunteer work at catholic schools across Pennsylvania and Ohio. 

Upon moving to North Carolina, Barbara found her true passion in school administration at St. Gabriel’s, but was proudest when she was one of the first employees at the newly established Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School.  It was here that she became an integral part of the school staff, while also forming bonds with hundreds of students across two decades.

Barbara’s greatest joy was raising her six children and being a wonderful wife to her husband, Bill.  She especially loved traveling with her family, her favorite destination being the Outer Banks.

When not traveling, Barbara loved the simple things while at home. She stayed busy carpooling, cooking big dinners, and doing yard work. A lover of animals, she always made sure the house was filled with the joy a 4-legged pet.

If you knew Barbara, then you knew her love for her children, her friends, and her extended family at school, both staff and students.  If you did not know her well, her smile, brightly colored clothes, and laugh would tell you all you needed to know about the warmth she exuded everywhere she went.

After retiring from Holy Trinity, Barbara and Bill moved to Dublin, NH to enjoy time in the mountains and holidays with grandchildren.  Barbara was involved in the local community and loved her rosary group. 

Barbara is survived by her husband, Bill, of Dublin NH; her children, daughter Jennifer of Fishers, IN, son William and his wife Ottavia of Bethesda, MD, daughter Kristen and her husband Thomas of Kenilworth, IL, daughter Anne of Raleigh, NC, daughter Elizabeth and her husband Justin of Cary, NC, and son Christopher and his wife Alexandra of Davidson, NC; and her grandchildren Jack, Isabella, Andrew, Amelia, Clara, Benjamin, Emma, Anna, and Caterina.

A funeral mass was held privately for Barbara’s family at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by burial at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in North Easton, Massachusetts.
