Obituary

James J. Young, 74 of Kensington, NH passed away peacefully on June 18, 2023, at Pheasant Wood Center in Peterborough, NH.  He was born in Medford, MA on July 2, 1948, the son of Warren and Mildred (DeSimone) Young.

As a young man, James served in the US Coast Guard. After the Coast Guard, James worked as an auto mechanic- growing his love for all things automotive. Later in his life he used his strong machine skills at a number of positions in facility maintenance. Later in life, he could be found feeding or watching the birds, enjoying rides on his Harley or spending time in the garage building his dreams. If he wasn’t working on his hot rods, he was talking about them. James was a big tough guy with a soft spot for animals, especially his cats.

James is survived by his son Paul Young and partner Melissa Cordeiro of Carver Ma, grandson Tyler Young, son Bryan Young and wife Jessica Young of Plymouth Ma, and his “buddy” Charlie.

The family requests that if you plan to attend, please arrive shortly before as the service and military honors will begin promptly at 1:15. After the service, the family invites you to join them at Mezza-Luna restaurant, 253 Main St, Buzzards Bay, Bourne, MA.
