John Michael Hartwell, 66 of Dublin, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by the love of his family on July 2, 2023. He was born in Keene, NH on September 6, 1956. He was the son of Edwin Hartwell and Susan (Carr) Hipple.
John was a lifelong resident of Dublin. He graduated from Con-Val High School class of 1975. John worked many years as a heavy equipment operator/truck driver working for Hanson Construction, Town of Peterborough, and Town of Dublin Highway department. He retired from the Town of Dublin October 2021.
John loved spending time with his family and friends. He was most proud of his grandsons and loved watching their sporting events. He loved his family get-togethers and watching the New England Patriots and NASCAR races. John loved playing golf and camping, and in his earlier years John enjoyed playing coed softball and candle pin bowling.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, Patricia (Edick) Hartwell, John will be forever loved and remembered by his mother Susan (Carr) Hipple, son Michael Hartwell and wife Meaghan of Bennington, daughter Megan Stagnone and her husband Phil of Exeter, grandsons Andrew McKenzie, Alex and Henry Hartwell, Arlo and Owen Stagnone, brothers Stephen Hartwell of Jaffrey, Bruce Hartwell (Amy) of New Boston, Bill Hipple (Cindy) of Meaford Ontario, along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father & his loving stepfather Glen Hipple.
The family would like to thank the staff at Monadnock Oncology for their love, care and support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 15th at 1:00 pm at the Dublin Community Church, 1125 Main Street, Dublin NH. A Celebration of John’s life will follow beginning at 3:00 PM at The Monadnock Country Club, 49 High Street, Peterborough, NH.
