Judith Brennan Obituary

Judith Hall Brennan died peacefully May 5, 2018 at Monadnock Community Hospital,  after a brief stay, surrounded by her loving and devoted husband, Joe, and members of her family.  She was 93 years old.

Judy was born in New York City, but spent most of her early years in Westport,  CT where she met her lifelong love, Joe Brennan. They married there in 1949, where they had four children before moving to West Wilton, then later Peterborough, New Hampshire.

She worked for several years with the Visiting Nurse Association, then as Office Manager for Drs. Brodkin & Seigel. For over 20 years, she and Joe also collected and sold antiques, traveling to hundreds of shows throughout New England, and maintaining booths at several shops until their late 80’s. She loved to laugh, to dance, to knit and do needlepoint.  But most of all she loved Joe and her four children and the families each of them brought to her.

She is survived by Joe, all her children and their partners: Bruce ( Louise), Tim (Diane Cross), Kate Loughrey (Sean Steele) and Jack (Kunda Magenau) as well as 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Throughout her life, she remained just as described in her high school yearbook: “Lovely to look at; delightful to know.”

At her request, there will be no viewing, visiting hours or service; she hoped her friends and those who knew her would take comfort in remembering  her smiles and their shared times.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, friends may make gifts to Project Linus, C/o Monadnock Community Hospital, 452 Old Street Road, Peterborough, NH 03458 or  the Jennie Scott Legacy Fund, C/o Scott-Farrar, 11 Elm Street, Peterborough, NH 03458, where she & Joe have so happily lived her final 2 years.
