Robert Cloutier Obituary

Robert H. Cloutier passed away on February 27, 2018 at U Mass. Health Alliance/Leominster Campus, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Nashua, NH on June 25, 1932, the eldest son of Joseph and Ella (Levesque) Cloutier.  He was valedictorian of the first graduating class (1951) of Alvirne High School, in Hudson. He attended St. Anselm College, and served in the US Army.

Bob began his career in real estate in Nashua.  He met the love of his life, Patricia Sweeney, in 1960.  They married in 1961 and settled in Nashua.  In 1970 the family moved to Francestown, where Bob installed his own tennis court to avoid having to wear tennis whites when he played.  In 1985 the family moved to Hancock, and in 2000 to Peterborough. He worked in real estate throughout his career, retiring in 2006.  He routinely completed the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink.  His keen intellectual mind, colorful language, and corny sense of humor will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife Pat of 57 years, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. (Nicole Luongo) Cloutier, and grandson, Paxton, of Dover, and John D. Cloutier (Elaine Saldanha) and four grandsons, Zachary, twins Jacob and Cameron, and David, of Vacaville, CA; and three daughters, Julianne Ray and husband Kenneth and grandchildren Adeline and Marshall, of North Yarmouth, ME, Meg Renzi and husband Kenneth, and granddaughter Olivia, of Worcester, MA, and Kate Keisling and grandsons, Riley and Beckett, and Edward F. Keisling, their father, all of North Andover, MA.

He is also survived by his sisters, Lorraine (Cloutier) Cloutier and her husband, Kenneth Cloutier, of Palmetto FL, Jacqueline (Cloutier) Laplante and her husband, Normand, of Nashua, and his sister-in-law, Micheline Mougel Cloutier, of France, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Richard, of Gerardmer, France.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 3, beginning at 10:30 a.m., at Divine Mercy Parish, located at 12 Church Street (off Route 101), Peterborough, NH, with a memorial mass to follow at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to the ConVal High School, 184 Hancock Road, Peterborough, NH 03458.  Please write "Music Program/R. Cloutier" in memo.
