William "Bill" Bergmann Obituary

William Frederick Bergmann, age 73 of Greenfield, passed away peacefully at Catholic Medical Center on May 20, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.   He was born in Queens, NY on September 19, 1949, the son of Frederick and Dorothy (Henn) Bergmann.

Bill had a long, fulfilling career beginning at Bulova Watch Company in NY and later working as an engineer at New Hampshire Ball Bearings for over 30 years.  He was an avid Patriots fan and never missed a game.  He was a huge Mopar enthusiast and enjoyed working on his many classic cars and participating in car shows.  He loved to spend time with his family and friends, vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee and making the trip to Carlisle, PA to the Mopar Nationals every July.  He was incredibly proud of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and their many accomplishments.

In addition to his wife Ruth (Shannon/Glidden) Bergmann, Bill is survived by his son, William H. Bergmann (wife Lara and grandson Oscar), son Robert Bergmann (wife Sylvia, grandson Oliver and granddaughter Hannah), son Benjamin Bergmann (wife Amy and granddaughters Gracie and Zoe), son Edward Glidden, daughter Shannon Glidden (significant other Aaron Fontaine), brother and sister-in-law Richard and Pat Bergmann and brother and sister-in-law Fred and Rosalie Bergmann, many nieces and nephews and his best friends Dave and Joy Boothby.

A Celebration of Bill’s life will be announced soon.
