Rev Ralph H Booth

August 25, 1928 ~ August 1, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Reverend Ralph Hunt Booth died at RiverMead Lifecare Community, Peterborough, NH, on August 1, 2017, following a period of declining health. He was born on August 25, 1928 in Buffalo, NY.

 

Rev. Booth was a graduate of Bennet High School, the College of Wooster, and Yale University Divinity School.

 

He was an ordained Presbyterian minister. His first church was in Dunkirk, NY. Following that, he served at State Street Presbyterian Church, Schenectady, NY, for thirty years. During that time, he was active in many civic and religious organizations, particularly those dealing with civil rights and mental health issues. In 1975, he was elected Moderator of the Presbytery of Albany, NY.

 

In 1989, Rev. Booth accepted the position of Interim Executive Presbyter in Palisades, NJ. Upon completion of this assignment, he and wife Carley retired to Peterborough, NH. He continued to be involved in the church; helping to administer the Presbytery of Northern New England, while worshipping at the Antrim, NH Presbyterian Church. Rev. Booth was an active member of the Kiwanis Club and served on the board of Home Health Care, Keene, NH.

 

Rev. Booth is survived by his wife Mary Jean (Long) Booth, of RiverMead; his son Mark, of Penn Yan, NY; daughter Amy (Booth) St. George of Peterborough, NH; her husband Richard, and their children Daniel and Alison and Alison's family. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as Mrs. Booth’s family; Richard and Rilla Long of Milford, NH; their daughters, Allison and Valerie, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, and wife, Carley.

 

Rev. Booth’s family is grateful to the nursing staff at RiverMead for the incredible care he received. Their compassion and professionalism were greatly appreciated.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday August 25, 2017 at RiverMead at 2pm, followed by a reception there. Donations in his name may be made to the organization of one’s choice.
