Mary Jean - my deepest condolences - it was a delight knowing you - and while I have always been sad that plans did not work out between you and my Dad - I do so understand. Your family was always important to Dad. You were a bright spot in my life, and I am glad you found happiness. All the best to you and your family.

I cared for Carley Booth during her illness and found Reverend Booth a very caring and compassionate husband along with their daughter Amy. My thoughts and prayers are with the Booth family during their time of sorrow.
Sincerely,
Ursula Scribner

I want to echo the sentiments of Alison and Daniel on Facebook - Uncle Ralph was a powerful influence in my life and the lives of so many other people. He was kind, generous, and intelligent; a consummate professional and a class act.
I will always remember his smile, sharp wit and wonderful laugh. He was a charismatic presence who made everyone, whether long-time friend or family, or someone he just met, feel comfortable, at ease and welcome.
I will always consider him to be a most honored member of our family.
I was so very grateful that he was able to co-preside (with the priest) at our wedding ceremony when Natalie and I were married in the Catholic church - ….his participation and involvement (almost 32 years ago) meant a great deal to us.
Despite the known inevitability of death, it is because we loved the wonderful, authentic and special man that Uncle Ralph was, that we currently suffer, morn, and grieve his passing, and it will take some time to heal and be able to deal with life’s future challenges the way we did before he left us.
I am guilty of doing a poor job of keeping in touch (which I very much regret), but I will miss him very much nonetheless. I have such fond memories of our family trips to Schenectady and Half Moon Lake and I thoroughly enjoyed all my time with my robust, dynamic, and engaging uncle.
If there is anything that I can do or help with, as you grieve his death, please let me know (even if it is just listening). I often feel that we are living in the presence of departed loved ones and I suspect that Uncle Ralph will, in his own time and fashion, let us know that he has not truly left us.

Uncle Ralph’s kindness, tenderness, sensitivity, compassion and soothing demeanor has helped countless still-living family and friends deal with the deaths of theirs loved ones. The earthly world, after benefiting from his presence for just shy of 89 well-lived years, has lost a wonderful and charming soul and if more of us (of those who are still here) were to strive to be as loving, spiritual, deeply connected and compassionate as my uncle, the world would be a much better place.

Love and deepest sympathies,

Clark Schaffner

There were many time that I turned to Ralph for advice and for his sense of deep faith and wisdom. He was a great friend and an amazing person of faith. We will miss him. My deepest condolences to the family.

Ralph was one of the great men with whom I served while a pastor from 1991-2004 in the Presbytery of Northern New England: always kind, wise, both strong and gentle, and with an absolutely wonderful sense of humor and lovely way with words. Being his colleague and friend is one of the great blessings of my life. The Rev. David Malone
